Santa Catalina Island is located across from the Palos Verdes Peninsula. The Island belongs to Los Angeles County
and is 22 miles from the hustle and bustle of big city life. There are no traffic lights on this island!
Avalon is the perfect spot to get away from the stress of the Southern California highways.

Enjoy the clean, fresh smog free air!! The bay and surrounding water is the cleanest water in the USA, aside from Hawaii.

In 1975 I fell in love with Avalon. My 2 week vacation ended up lasting the whole summer. I had nothing but fun and aventure.
Traveling all over the island. I lived and worked at the Hermosa Hotel owned and operated by David Lewis.
I must say it was one of the jobs I loved. To work with nice people and be treated with respect is rare.
